Star Wars Episode II, DVD, Bootleg "Gold" version, China 2002
The image is murkier, but more saturated than the comparable bootleg I received the same month. The audio is encoded in DD 5.1 but is practically monaural. The trailer advertised on the back is a no-show.
The VOB-files on the disc are dated May 13th 2002, but the movie premiered in cinemas May 16th so that hardly seems legit. (Still, it's not unprecedented.) I bought this disc in august of that year.
I call this the "Gold" version after the "Gold DVD" sticker on the cover. This was camcorded off a cinema screen, and features the theatrical edit of Episode II, never released commercially. The camera seems to be situated somewhere to the right off center, and the image is a little slanted.
