The Making of Star Wars, VHS, Twentieth Century-FOX Video, UK 1982
Fullscreen, PAL, No Hi-Fi

Twentieth Century-Fox video released this the same year as the first Star Wars was released to home video for the first time. I assume there's a Betamax equivalent, but I have yet to find it.

The tape predates the CBS/Fox period, and instead has the 20th Century Fox movie logo with a voiceover stating "20th Century Fox Video presents...." The copyright notice doesn't appear until after the end credits.

I never knew this tape existed until a surprise find on eBay UK in 2012. I had to go through some hoops to get it, but luckily I have a mate in the UK. (Thanks Ryan).
I bought the tape in 2012 but didn't attempt to play it until 2025, and found the spools were seized. I had to perform some case housing surgery to free up the locking mechanism again, but managed to do it without damaging the label. The tape played just fine after that, luckily. I guess I should have taken the time to inspect my purchases when I got them, but at the time I was preoccupied with just accumulating tapes instead of actually playing them. Hindsight is 20-20, and I'm sure there will be more surprises waiting for me in my collection.
