Contains the Original Trilogy films in Widescreen, with French dubbing and the opening crawls recreated in French. The tapes begin with a 5-minute-long presentation of other CBS/Fox titles (Clips from Crocodile Dundee, The Ewoks Animated Series etc. are shown.) This is a snazzy fold-out box housing the original trilogy on three separate VHS tapes. The "La Trilogie" logo is printed in metallic gold, which is susceptible to flaking, but the glossy finish and heavy cardboard gives this a premium feel. The tapes themselves have no sleeves, so I'm knocking off a few points for that. I'm not out to have a complete set of releases from every nation in the world, and I don't expect I'll be getting many Frenche tapes. I was buying just about eveything I could get my hands on in 2009, and this was just a chance encounter on eBay that ended in a permanent relationship. Unfortunately I am unable to play the French video system SECAM properly on any of my players, but I can get a black & white image so I can see what's on the tapes at least.
