Droids Vol.2 Test Copy, VHS, MAYCO A/S, Norway 1987

This is a "test copy" dated July 1997. This was produced for Norwegian distributor Mayco, and features a time-coded copy of the second Norwegian Droids Volume (Described as "Droids 1st season" on the tape itself). I suppose it is standard practice to produce a small batch of test copies for QC and approval before starting the main replication run. The tape has no opening company logos or copyright info, and no Norwegian subtitles. The intervals between episodes are also longer than on the rental tape that was released the following year. It didn't come with a case, and the writing on the front label is in faint pencil. I have upped the contrast on the pictures here to make it more legible. The cassette has a light tan flap, typical of pre-recorded tapes from a replication facility. Commercially available blank tapes just have black housings and flaps. I found this on a Facebook auction in 2020 and wasted no time bidding on it. It wasn't much of a competition as most people don't see the value in something like this.
