Star Wars Trilogy Widescreen Edition, VHS, 20th Century-Fox Home Ent, USA 1995

Contains the Original Trilogy films in THX Widescreen, released as the "final video release of Star Wars in its original version" before being subplanted by the upcoming Special Editions.

This is a Widescreen version of the fullscreen box set released the same year. As you can see, I am the proud owner of a sealed copy, and unless I find a cheap, opened set, I won't be able to display what's inside.

Note the price tag on the front, $59.98. On the bottom of the box, on the shrinkwrap, my copy is designated #8729. Was this a "Limited Edition" of some sort?

According to Nathan Butler's book, "A Saga on Home Video", this set was released in two different versions, one which opens from the top (like mine), and one that opens from the side.

I bought this on eBay back in 2009, and had forgotten about it until my 2025 rummage through the shelves.
