Widescreen 2.35:1 - Hi-Fi Stereo - PAL

When the THX releases were issued in 1995, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment went all out. These were premium items, with the logos in metallic red printing on the covers. The films were released in both Widescreen and Full frame versions concurrently. In my opinion, Widescreen releases on VHS are problematic, as the format doesn't have the resolving power to render anything but blurry images when the film is shrunk to fit the Widescreen ratio in the 4x3 frame. Part 2 of Leonard Maltin's promotional interview with George Lucas appears before the film starts. My copy came with a fold-out brochure for the Hasbro toys, but no other promotional material as found in the other 1995 releases. The inside of the sleeve features alternative posters and artwork in full colour.
