This is a Star Wars Episode II VCD set released in Malaysia in 2002. It comes in a tall cardboard sleeve, wrapped around 2 jewel cases. You'll note that the second case is a 2-disc case housing discs 2 and 3.
The film comes in the regular 4x3 cropped format, with original English sound and no subtitles. As you can see from the screenshots below, there are no subtitles for the alien languages either. These discs start with the CD-i logo, which is an "interactive" version of the VideoCD format. With this format it is possible to have player-generated subtitles, so I suspect the alien subtitles are present when playing these discs in a CD-i compatible machine. Included on the third disc is a short program called Star Wars connections outlining the Star Wars "family tree". The deleted scenes from Episode II are also included on this disc. It's not often you see a VCD with supplemental materials. |
