This is a repressing by Mitsubishi of the 1989 widescreen edition, now with the FOX Video logo and a copyright date of 1992, but when played the disc itself still retains the CBS/Fox logo.
While it would appear that the discs themselves are identical to the 1989 pressing, after the film a Channel Check feature and colour bars have been added. The "blank" side 4 no longer has the charming "LD turtle", but a boring text message instead. These were reprinted in large quantities and show up shrinkwrapped quite frequently. The framing error on the original release was not corrected for this repressing (See illustrations here.). It would be rectified by a quiet repressing by Technidisc in 1993. They all share the same catalog number so it's impossible to tell them apart without checking the mint marks on the actual discs. |
