Star Wars, Laserdisc, 20th Century-Fox video, 1982

The first US laserdisc (aka. "LaserVision") of Star Wars, presented in cropped "fullscreen" with analog stereo sound. The film was mildly time-compressed (sped up) to fit within the 2-hour limit of a single Laserdisc (one hour to a side). At the time it was still the best home video edition available.

There is no Video distributor logo at the beginning, the movie goes straight from the LaserVision logo into the 20th Century Fox logo of the film. The FBI warning is held to the end of side 2. Contrary to popular belief, the Episode IV title was there from the very beginning on home video.

Originally released under the "20th Century-Fox Video" banner, this Laserdisc would be reissued the following year under the CBS/Fox label, but the contents were identical.
