This is a bootleg release of the Original and Prequel trilogies on DVD (The cover still says "trilogy"), originating from China in 2005. As soon as Episode III was released, complete sets of all six movies started to appear out of Asia. By now the Star Wars movies were officially available on DVD, so the bootleggers had to offer something new, and collecting all films in a single box set was something you couldn't get officially at the time.
I am calling this the "K-530" release after the product number on the spine. A flimsy cardboard slipcase houses a 6-disc Amaray cover with all six movies. The six discs come in a 6-leaf sleeve. lying loose inside the plastic case. There is inside artwork on the case inlay, listing details and info about each film. On the back of the packaging, the films are listed by release year, not episode number. Nice touch.
This was released after Episode III premiered on DVD, so all the discs are rips of the official NTSC DVDs, though compressed onto single-layered discs. The original motion menus are mostly intact, but on Episode II the menu is a set of still images instead. The VOBs on the latest film are dated 11.11.2005.
All the films have the original English 5.1 Dolby Digital audio present. Episodes I, II and III feature Chinese dubs (Episode III even has two different Chinese audio tracks), but Star Wars, Empire and Jedi have only the English audio.
All films have English, Chinese, Korean and Thai subs (Except Episode I, which has no Thai subs)
Supplemental materials are mostly stripped from the discs, but the Audio Commentary track has been retained on Episode I. Episode I is also the only disc to feature the DVD-ROM content from the official release. A curious addition has been made to the Episode III disc; Upon playback, the disc starts with a menu where you can select the music from the complete soundtrack. Clicking "Return" takes you to the main menu.
