Special Effects, Laserdisc, Videographics/Pioneer, Japan Year unknown

This hour-long 1984 documentary on special effects contains snippets of footage from The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The movies are only mentioned in brief, and shown as examples of modern (!) effects. No behind the scenes footage or interviews with the people behind the scenes of Star Wars are included. Disappointing. It still belongs in my Star Wars video collection, and I'm glad to have it.

The laserdisc is formatted in CAV, allowing frame by frame analysis of the clips provided. Not uncommon for Japanese laserdiscs, this release features bilingual commentary in Japanese and the original English. No subtitles appear in the image.
